Default Magnaflow it is....now about tips?

Got another opinion yesterday on most practical exhaust mods for '03 GS3. Muffler mechanic said the bOEM exhaust system on my car is pretty efficient as is. He too suggested leaving resonators and piping alone, saying I would gain little to no improvement for a lot more money. He suggested 18" long oval cans and possibly swapping rear converter for more open flow design.

Magnaflow tips are quite high...any suggestions on less expensive quality alternates? Want to keep look the same...oval/angle cut with same diameter.

buy a GS400/430 for performance upgrade. best bang for the buck. nothing will make the 300 as fast as the 400/430 south of super/turbochargers but the cost of changing it is a lot less.
if you want loud exhaust buy magnaflow. otherwise leave it alone. exhaust does not give you more then 1-2HP which is nothing. it is like loosing weight on a car or ptting you on diet. you can loose 10lbs and will be still good to go. to loose 10lbs on a car is pretty hard and expensive.
