I've got a 2001 IS300. I've been having problems w/ the shifting from 2nd to 3rd every once in a while. The shift is very jerky. I've heard that its a problem w/ the first IS300 made. I called my dealership, and they refused to do anything about it. And i called lexus customer service, and they said i have to duplicate the problem w/ the technician. Any of you guys know anything, or have any suggestions. Thanks
If your dealership does not know (or pretends not to know), about the update tell them to look up the following Technical Service Information Bulletin:

mine doesnt start in 2nd when i put to manual just after i started the car. i noticed this since it got colder. but after maybe a minute, or driving in auto, it goes back to normal. i can downshift to 2nd. does anybody experienced this? is it the intake/ecu, exhaust or just the weather. i need advices from the veterans here.
even if it says 2 when your in amnual mode it will start in 1st gear.. the numbers in manual mode just hold it to that gear. you can drive in manual in with 5 lit up and the car will drive as if you are in auto.. all it does is holds youto that gear so you can get more RPMs out of the grear.
ahhh!!!! i see what he was saying now!!! i get it..
i just didnt understand him before.. i was like "it doesnt start in second?!?!?! WTF!?!! maybe his car is jacked up..." but i get it now..
thanks! but why is it doing that,? i'm just worried maybe the ecu got screwed up with the srt intake i got including the ecu upgrade. i'm kinda afraid to go to the dealership coz they might void my warranty and blame it to what i did tap in the ecu. i'll probably take it off one time and put the stock back and see what happens. if it goes alright, my srt intake/ecu will be on sale.
I just put in a K&N intake on my 03 IS300. I have 130,000miles on it, but the air filter I installed tonight and now Im having had shifts between first gear and second gear anyone know what might be causing this?
