Default my custom magnaflow exhaust

this will be Stage 1 - Ordering:

ok, so i am ready to order the parts for my custom exhaust setup.

i need help deciding which of these 2 mufflers to go with:

magnaflow 14829: http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=main&id=767

or

magnaflow 14851: http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=main&id=792

the only difference from what i read, is that the 14851 goes from a 2.25" inlet to a 2.5" 'internal race core' whereas the 14829 is 2.25" all the way through. which would you recommend?

i will also be going with the magnaflow x-pipe 10791: http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=main&id=855

i am going with 2.5" piping from the primary cat to the back. i will be deleting the secondary cats. any help or suggestions are appreciated.

also, how big is the stock piping?

will it matter that i am going with 2.5" all the way through and then going to 2.25" at the muffler itself?

So Stage 1 is complete.

I changed my mind and ordered part #14366 (2) which is an offset/offset 2.5" in/out muffler, the magnaflow tru-x 2.5" x-pipe, and 2 rolled, round, angle 4" tips part # 35136. It all came out to under $300 thanks to ebay.

Are you just doing an axle back system? What are you doing for the rest of the piping?

No, I am doing a cat-back. The only thing that will stay are the 2 primary cats. Everything else will be replaces with the above and 2.5" piping throughout.

I plan on keeping the stock system as in tact as possible should I not be happy with the results.

When do you think it will be installed? Will you be taking pics and videos?

I'll be doing both. For the video, I'll be using a digi-cam... so thats the best I will be able to do as far as that is concerned. Any specific kind of pics?

As for when... hopefully I'll receive it sometime during the week so I can do it on the weekend.

I'd like to see pics of the exhaust from under the car while it is still up on the rack. The digi-cam video will be pretty disappointing, but I'd still like to see it.

do a search for the member azps c6. he did an exhaust for a member here. my exhaust is pretty much identical. in the thread there some pretty good videos and pictures. I'm willing to bet my exhaust will sound the same. I may add resonators if I am not happy with it though.

I am still happy with my magnaflow's also.

Car lost, I have magna's with my cats removed and stock resonator left in. It's loud like that. I can't imagine how loud yours is going to be without. You might want to look at some aftermarket resonators.

If you want to hear what the magnaflows sound like without cats, but stock resonator left in click above my avitar on "custom exhaust"

I still have to chuckle every time you say your exhaust is loud ...
