the question i have is, are there any differences with the crank from an obd1 2jz-gte engine, and a crank from a 2jz-ge vvti motor from an 02 is300? i have a ge vvti from an 02 is300, and the mains appear to be the same, but i am just wondering about the crank. any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
secondly, are there any differences other than the oil squirters, between a obd1 gte block and the block out of my gs300??? i have a friend whose 1jz swap just experienced crank walk, and he was thinking of upgrading to a 2jz. i still have the factory motor from my gs300, and a set of gte pistons and rods, that i was going to give him so he wouldnt have to buy a swap motor. however, i dont want to give him a block that wont do what he needs, versus him just buying a gte block thats ready to go.
i know the older gte motors pretty well, but ive never researched the newer vvti motors at all. thanks for the help.
the crank on the ge motor, or the vvti gte motor is weaker IIRC. There is no oil squirt on any ge motor (btw your gs300 has a ge motor). Why NA-T when you can just get a full gte swap?
i didnt say it straight out, i figured someone would pick up on it, but i have a full obd1 gte swap already. the motor spun all 7 main bearings, so i need a new crank and main caps. so being that i have a is300 motor, i already know the mains are the same, just wondering if the crank is the same so i can swap it into my gte motor.
on the second part, i was asking if the block out of my stock motor, other than oil squirters, was the same as the gte block. my friends motor blew, and he want to upgrade to a gte block. if mine is the same as a gte block, i'll just give him mine.
