The borla exhaust is the first design that implements an X-pipe instead of an H-pipe or 2 Y-pipes separated by a single resonator. It may make significantly more power than every other design out there. It may also have a distinctive sound due to the X-pipe.

If that is true, than why on the website I see their system and it looks like the H-pipe??? I dont see how this exhaust would make more power compared to the Megan...Im not a fan of Megan, its just the only other Full CBE I know of.

I don't know what pictures you are looking at, but Borla's X-pipe looks NOTHING like an H-pipe. An H-pipe is 2 parallel pipes joined by a perpendicular connecting pipe. Borla's X-pipe is 2 mendrel bent curved pipes with an open joint between them. Megan's design is very similar to the stock design since it has 2 Y-pipes separaged by a single resonator.

Oh yeah, almost forgot - doing the baseline dyno on my car on Friday also.

So the install will have to wait until after that point in any case.

Coaster, why don't you knock out a couple birds with one stone and record the dyno session, then give a little recording of it inside the cockpit and outside on take off.

that would be soweeeeeeeet!

I'm just going to get a baseline on the car on Friday and then do the install as soon as I get the exhaust, break it in for about 500 miles (about a week and a half) with the intake and then redyno. I know its not optimal but the dynos are running about $100 for 3 pulls around here so economics has to come into play.

Just got a note that they are waiting for the freight truck to arrive, so hopefully by the end of the week. Waiting is the hardest part, especially since my track record with ordering parts for my IS350 - my BBS wheels took 3 months to get here from Japan (sigh).

And I'll get the sound clip/movie clip at the exhaust/intake dyno too (almost forgot hehe).

Bad news, just got a note from where I bought the exhaust - supposedly Borla isn't putting the street legal exhaust into production until the beginning of April so I'm probably looking at the end of April until the exhaust arrives.

Sucks.

I'm tired of car accessories dealers and their inability to really tell you if an item is in stock or if its coming in a timely manner.

That does suck. Keep us posted and hopefully the wait will be worth it.

I'm waiting, they said early April.

I'll get it whether from one source or another.

If Borla offered free shipping I'd take the plunge and get it directly from them but the retail price + heavy shipping cost is too much for me, it'd be like $350-400 more than what I'm paying now.

And I'll be doing sound clips, etc once I get it.
