If you are tuning with SAFC already, then you wouldn't need the piggyback, the piggyback is just a set a/f ratio as you put more mods like exhaust, intake, headers, you would need to retune your a/f to optimize performance.
You dont want to use an Afc and a Race ecu together, they are basically doing the same function. If you are going to use the Afc then you have to get the car dyno tuned if you want to see any performance increases and also so you can monitor your A/F and not damage the car.
If you don't mind me asking, when you say make your own intake, what are you going to do about mounting/sealing the MAF if you arent going to include the factory "arm" (assuming you are going to use larger diameter piping to get more airflow) in your intake?
I used to build intakes for the shop i used to run, for customers. Plus i still have all the tools i used to use at the shop and access to my old vendor. I'll figure out a way.
