Hey guys my friend jsut got a IS250 and after hearing my car wanted to have a mean sounding exhaust but keep his stock look so we made some spacers and disconected the resanator from the mufflers and took the springs off of the stock bolts and put the spacers (1.25/1.50 round 1in tubing, if i remember corectly) between the resanator flang and the y pipe flange and used the stock blots to tightn it down. it sonds very mean and not too loud, if u guys want a quick and stock looking exhaust u should try it.
I apologize if this is a repost, i dont post here much
Do you have any pictures of the spacers installed? I would be worried that the structural support of the system has been compromised in a way that could be catastrophic. I don't think the mid-pipe is supported by any hangers, so it is entirely hung by the manifolds and axle-back. When I was installing my HKS axle-back, I did a short drive with no mufflers at all, it it bounced all over the place (banging on the floor pan). It was a VERY short trip...
The spaces is bolted down, it’s like it is one piece just 1.5 longer. I would nvr let any one drive off if I want confident in my wrk.
There shouldn’t be much power loss at all, the catts, y pipes, and resonator provide enough back pressure, even if it losses some low end power/torque it should pick it up in higher RPMs.

I would still be concerned about the bolts breaking in a few months. The stock donut and springs are there to allow the exhaust to bounce and shake without breaking the bolts. I learned this the hard way on my last car.
Why not just spend $20 at an exhaust shop to have another O2 sensor bung welded in? It would be much easier, and you could put a blank plug in the bung if you got tired of the sound.
