Is it possible to only use the aftermarket intake pipe only without the filter?

It's possible to NOT use the filter with any intake, but why would you want to?

Is that a question, or a statement?

f there was a $50 intake, I wouldn't ever consider buying it. IMHO, the stock intake is better than any intake available. However, I do think the stock intake does benefit from the Joez intake pike, HKS drop-in filter, and shaving the resonator on the intake snorkel...

How do you shave the resonator ?

I don't think shaving the resonator really does much (if anything), but it was easy to do. I just cut the top off the chamber with my dremel, glued a piece of Lexan over the hole, then glued the chamber back on. It still looks stock from the outside.

I was thinking about getting the JoeZ pipe... but it's sounding more and more like none of these options might have any gains at all.

By the way, Greg, are you coming to the DFW meet on the 14th?

Lol I know you don't have to use a filter but what I meant was that the JoeZ is just the intake tube. I was wondering if I could get a K&N or Fujita intake and just use the tube only like the JoeZ.

The JoeZ intake tube is just a direct replacement for the OEM tube, so it is shorter, and doesn't have the mounting location for the MAF sensor like the SRI's.

I wasn't aware another CL / DFW meet was in the works. Will you PM a link? I don't even remember which forum is ours...

Does the ISx50 not have an MAF sensor in the OEM intake tube?

That comment threw me off a little... the JoeZ pipe couldn't get rid of the MAF sensor, right...?

EDIT: Heh, and of course right after I mention the meet to you and send you a PM, there's a forum announcement by Dave...
