Hey guys i'm new to the lexus community.
I was looking around for a intake for a 2007 lexus is250 rwd which was just purchased today.

All the intakes i can find from this thread are short rams, so my question is since i can not find any cold air intakes, is short ram better for this car or no company has attempted to make a cai for the car yet?

Also, will the K&N drop-in really change the feel and sound of the car as everyone says? I know it's just a replacement filter but is it really that great compared to a new system such as a short ram?

Thanks for any response.

The only cold air intake for the 2IS is still the stock one. All the aftermarket intakes are short rams, and most people agree that they don't make any extra power. The K&N drop in filter sucks IMO, but I don't know of anyone that says it changes sound or power. It sounds to me like you are confusing the drop in filter with the K&N short ram intake.

What do you mean by shaving the resonator on the intake snorkel?

Have any pics of this process?

Sorry if this was already discussed somewhere else

I just cut the resonator off of the snorkel with a dremel, glued a piece of plexiglass over the hole, then glued the resonator back on. It still looks stock. I doubt it makes any difference in performance, but I hoped it would increase the intake sound a bit more. It didn't have any noticeable change in sound either.

Hi guys, Zandra here. Yes I'm currently happy Intake. My intake for my baby is
Weapon R
. My friend from japan sent it to me as a birthday gift. Imagine that, a cold air intake as birthday present. My younger brother, however, has
Neuspeed
for his ride. He is a Honda fanatic. The way I remember it, he wasn't happy with his intake. So he switched to
Toucan
, I think. I guess his happy now with his new upgrade for his ride. Well, sometimes we race for to know who has a better ride. I win some, I lose some. Again, I'm happy with my intake.

I would guess that you are affiliated with coldairintakedirect.com, right? None of those intakes offer anything for a Lexus ISx50.

Man I'm gettin Greeddy =P

I can't wait to do all these mods after I get my miles.

There should be a lot more products available by then so it'll be good for a picky guy like me =)

Edit - I don't think I'll be getting any of these intakes. I'm considering a Blitz Intake first, and either K&N or Injen second n third.

I'm not following your logic about waiting for more miles. I see the benefit in waiting for more product choices, but none of the usual bolt-ons (intake, header, exhaust, etc.) will have any effect on how the engine breaks in.

Why doesn't Weapon R have an ISx50 intake on their website?

Guys, have you checked Zandrad's profile ?

He drives a 2002 IS 300 .

That's why there's a Weapon R intake for his car, and not for ours.

after switching from fujita to injen and driving the injen for about 100 miles now, i feel that the sound is louder and nicer than fujita.. also, the low end is better than before

LoL that's cuz I'm saving up and like to do a bunch of mods at once.

I don't like dropping the car off so many times to pick it up again and go back.

Bolt on, fab, test, tune and then I roll =P

Yo 6speed, that signature pic of your IS looks like my old 2gen Solara!
