Well, it happened again. And under the same circumstances. I just filled up with 91 at my local Shell station...drive a couple miles through the city...and then turn in slowly into a parking lot.
Engine dies.
It gets even more weird too. I told my brother about this who owns an older Volvo. It happened to him too, on the same day. Although he went to 76 in a different city. But he did put 91 into it...not sure why? Anyways, he was also going slowly too and poof! engine dies. I was kinda of happy to hear that it happened to him too. I'm hoping there is nothing wrong with my car. It's only 2 years old with less than 10K on it.
I'm beginning to think something is up with California's gas, more specifically 91 octane gas. Anyone else experience this lately or earlier this year? Anyone from another state experience this?
That's happened to me before as well. I called the dealership and made an appointment with them. Everything was covered under warranty, but from what I remember, they swapped out the computer. I'm not sure though, but I will try to look up my old records and try to get you an answer.
But I remember, it was the same scenario for me. I'll drive and when I slowed down, the engine just cut off and the car kept roling. One time it happened to me in the middle of rush hour. That was embarrassing, but I will try to find those records for you and I'll see what I can dig up---but make an appointment with the dealership and have it checked out.
