Im not gonna make a new thread but which intake doesnt require me cutting the engine cover??

 

Out of the three that I've used (stock, Joe Z, Fujita) none of them required any cutting. The LMS does not require any cutting either.

 

I am totally convinced that the stock set up is the best intake after having injen on my car for 2 days. I hated the sound it was making. I am so glad that I didnt throw away my stock intake box.

 

Do you have to cut out any covers with the K&N intake?

 

I have the K& N and no it does not require any cutting. The center engine cover ( The silver one ) does touch the intake but it still fits perfectly. It is up to you if you want to shave off a little of the foam so that it wont touch. I dont know about the other intakes but I am very happy with the K&N.

 

Thanks for the vid. I can't tell a difference in sound either. But why Lexus keeps on installing these two resonators then? It's just a waist of plastic, or is it?

 

Actually, there are a few combinations of throttle positions and RPMs that produce elevated noise with the resonators removed, so it is a little louder now at idle and at half throttle in the mid RPM range.

Just so when I do my 1/4 miles time this summer we can compare having the same intake pipe.

 

I felt the exact same way! I have the Injen on my ride as well, but after a week or so I have fell in LOVE with it. Give it some time and see what you think after a few weeks.
