some of the obd2 scanners like the snap-on one will read TPS, so you could adjest it according to that. when i fired mine up with the AEM, we had to set what the TPS was at. you can also always find a stock car and measure the TPS voltage with a meter to find out what it should be. mine on the GS300 was something like .61 volts when totally shut.

as for the throttle cable adjusting the idle, never heard of that before. the IAC controls idle, the more it opens, the higher the idle. with a supercharger, i wouldnt think you would want to open the throttle blade at all to increase the idle.

Yes, when u tighten the throttle cable it will increase rpm's. If he never took the tps sensor off the throttle body why would he need to recalibrate it? Installing a s/c doesn't include taking off the tps...........

yes i have upgraded 330cc RC injectors and i'm gettin' about 5lbs. of boost at my altitude and yes i started the car before installing the SAFC II and had the same problems, i had it running for half a day ok but at very low idle (300RPM)

yeah, they didn't remove the TPS for a long time, but the CEL would go away after we put the TPS back anyways, we were just testing things out. anyways, yeah we should've put things at stock but they ****ed with my throttle body cable and the fuel dampeners on the rails.. so who knows what the problem could be! anyone got any idea?

dude what fuel dampners? if you have a 400 there are only a single bolt on the end of each rail.

1. These are the just the fuel damper and they shouldn't be messing with it. This is the returnless fuel system, everything located in the pump. Fuel pressure regulator is in the tank also. You run more pressure by tighten that return line.
2. Adjusting your TPS voltage won't help your idle but it will throw everything out of sync. Get a lexus scanner, take the 2 screws out. Turn the car to ON position. Adjust your TPS angle to 13-15%, once you achieve these numbes. Lock it down!!!!!
3. Your stock ECU will learn the new set up in a couple of days.

'cause my shop adjusted these without knowing what they were (they assumed they were fuel pressure regulators) but i was told from lexus that the ECU does all of that and those are only set by the factory and can't get restored to factory settings???? help!!!

anyone ever mess with the throttle body cable and/or TPS?
they also changed this, tightened it a bit from where it was to get a bit better throttle response.. and might have something to do with the car not running correctly? also, when we remove the TPS the car run fine, doesn't stall, etc. but has a CEL. any suggestions?

what do stock GS400's idle at?
with the supercharger on, my car will idle around 400-600, is that right? how do i fix this?

any help will be helpful, thanks!!!

ok so how do i adjust the TPS? should i just take it to lexus and have them set it back to the correct setting for me?

should i change out the 330cc RC injectors back to my stock ones? since i'm at a higher altitude, this is what a lot of people are telling me to do.

If you have a access to a Lexus scanner, I would put it back to 13-15%. This is a DBW system so it's very sensitive and your gas pedal won't work if set up incorrectly.
What kind of fuel controller do you have? We ran the 310cc injectors on our customer car and it does need a little bit lean out at idle. SAFC will work Ok, but we found out the XFC works very well this kind of set up(except the TPS signal ). Get a scanner and tune it through all the rpm ranges. Remember to stay in -10 and +10 range LT. Good luck.

If u know a mechanic that has a snap on hand held machine (the same machine that reads codes) it will actually show what ur tps is @ when the key in the on position once he is able find out what it is all u have to do is loosen the to bolt that holds the tps to the throttle body and make minor adjustments and once u make a move kepp it there and allow the scanner to about 10 seconds to read the new position this process is as easy as changing ur air filter out on ur car all u need is the scanneronce u get it where u want it at tighten the bolts up and wait to see if it has moved while tightening when doing this process the sensor is VERY SENSITIVE.

does anyone know if i need a vacuum line hooked up to my Greddy BOV Type-S? or if at my altitude - i should switch back to my stock injectors or keep the RC 330 cc's in?

ok i hope this fixes the problem..

i'm gonna have the shop do the following:

clean the spark plugs
fix the oil leak
unhook the SAF-C II
reset the ECU
clean up my ECU wiring
fix exhaust leak

then i'm gonna have lexus do the following:
new serpentine belt
readjust the throttle body cable like suggested

anything else? i'm hoping this will all help

what do i do since they messed with the fuel dampeners? just have them leave it or should we keep messin' with that as well?

Did you ever have the TPS adjusted correctly?
If your still runing rich, do you have the 310cc injectors that come w/ the kit to put in?

You need to adjust the idle screw. Don't set it too high, otherwise a CEL will trigger.
It shouldn't take 4 months to install and tune a s/c kit. Any lexus tuners in the area? If not I can fly out and fix all the bugs out for you . Are you in the Denver area?
