Default K&N Filter on SRT Intake

Bought the RU-2990 K&N air filter for my SRT intake as recommended by a fellow CL member. I feel it is a bit small compared to the filter that came with the SRT. My SRT filter was so dirty that the K&N made a great improvement in performance. Anyway, here is what it looks like.

why did you get rid of the aFe filter? if it got dirty, you could of used the K&N recharge kit to clean it.. i doubt there's a significant difference between the two filters?

Hmmm...not a bad idea.

I gave my cousin my Weapon-R Dragon Intake filter...was a POS for me and for him except he uses it for car shows for his Golf VR6...but I bought him a K&N and works like a charm.

One filter I highly recommend is the Blitz SUS...a bit pricey though.

Well, the AFE was really trashed. It was so dirty I figured I would try the K&N. I also thought the K&N would look a bit cooler . I agree there is most likely no difference between the AFE and K&N but I just felt like changing it out. Also, for $27 I got a brand new filter and did not have to mess with cleaning the AFE.
