k&n filter...did i buy the right one? confused

Default k&n filter...did i buy the right one? confused

i bought an air filter and the product code is 33-2170 for my 02 gs300. seriously i cant figure out how to install it. i thought i had to go thru the glove box...but what they gave me doesn't come close to fitting.

Are you talking about air filter, or cabin air filter?

You have the part number of a K&N engine air filter.

It exchanges the one in the air filter box under the hood. Some types unscrew the upper half, others just unclamp, pivit up off a half hinge and allow access.

Most of the time there are hoses attached to the upper half of the filter case, so lift the top half just enough to lift and slip out the filter inside.

It is recommended you carefully vacuum out the filter box prior to reinstalling the new filter.

Take a look at the attached picture. The air filter goes inside of that black box to the lower left. You unclip the cover and you will see it.

It is actually different on GS3 (He has 02 GS300). You have to unclip the little top cover on intake pipe (also located in the left lower part of underhood) and slide in the filter vertically.
