Hitting rev limiter in a 2003 GS430 with 3.76 gears and stock TC
OK, I have searched and searched but I was not able to find a definite answer to my question. Is there an issue of hitting the rev limiter in a 2003 GS430 when using 3.76 gears with the stock TC and 17" wheels?

Based on the experiences I've read with other GS4's on CL, I'd say you have about a 25% chance of having an issue with hitting your rev limiter. Not specific enough info on 2003 GS430, but seems like about 20 - 25%generic GS4xx owners who have the 3.76 gears have it (not scientific at all, just my general observations of people who have done this mod posting with rev limiter problems).
It IS something that you can solve by letting up on the gas a little as you get towards time to shift, so there is a workaround. Just not as convenient as mash and burn.
If I were in your shoes, I would personally go forward with the mod - it worth the risk to me. Use a good synthetic fluid (Amsoil).
