Well if I had the extra funds to mod like that I would if I could. Here is my 2 Cents worth....I believe most of the people see that it gets very addicting when it comes to modding your car and when you have the money to spare then by all mean mod. I for one watch alot of the classifieds to see if I can get a better deal on some mods and I have used that to my benefit. But seeing that there is a huge price tag of $30K it would lead some to ***-U-Me that it is a huge amount of money to drop on a car. I for one have modded my car heavily this year and it all adds up when you start looking at how much is spent on mods for the car. I am not one to go out and buy just because it is cool or is the hottest thing, but I like what I like and if it is expensive, I do research and find the best deals, but if I ever go to far, my wife will be the first to let me know that I have gone to far but then again, she drives it to and gets a kick out of the people that say good compliments on how it looks.

Like I said, this is just my 2 cents worth. Some will understand while others may get offended by my statement above, either way......MOD ON Brotha!

Cheers,

Revhard191

i think that your progress would be awesome to see. i honestly would go a cheaper route and just swap in a 2JZ but thats because i still have a love to manual transmission. it would be considerably cheaper and have just as much oomph. although i think your set up sounds amazing and am anxious to see the outcome.

as for your question above.. if i had those funds i wouldnt spend it all on my car. id probably save a good sum of it and put a portion of it into my car. if you wanted speed you also could gone with a gs430 and throw on a supercharger and you would walk on the majority of cars on the road.. just my opinions.. keep us posted pics would be great!!

You also need backup funds. Things WILL break with high horse power cars.

$30,000 setup seems to be a bit high though.
SRT Stage 3 is only 425 - 450 RWHP

If i were to build a setup with $30,000

2jz-gte swap (non vvti if you want high horse power setup) $8000 Installed

Sound Performance Tranny Upgrades - Toyota tranny - $1699
MKIV Fuel systems - $1750

SP71 Recirculated 4" DP, Ceramic coated, Polished turbo, Tial WG - $4499
"SP71GTQ This is the newest of the GT turbo technology. The compressor wheel is a one of a kind. It is machined out of a billet piece of aluminum on a 5 axis CNC machine. This allows the wheel to support very high boost levels, making huge power while spooling like a much smaller turbo. RWHP rating is 850. Features the anti-surge compressor cover."

SP 3.25L Stroker - $5999

**just and estimate**
Grand total of around $21,947 for a 850+ horse power 3.25L stroked 2jz-gte.

So... if you want to stay within the 400-450 range. You can just swap in a 2jz-gte w/ usdm turbo. Raise up the stock twin boost to achieve your 400-450rwhp goal. Or even install a single turbo which will still put you way way way below the 30k mark.

Once again, 2jz-gte swap will cost around 8k+ You can spend the rest of the money saved for gas.

THen just get the 2jz-gte VVTI. the 4 speed auto comes with tiptronic and you will still be able to use it if hooked up to your system. Get a basic single turbo and you'll be set. You'll end up with alot of spare $$$$ for other upgrades... rims, suspension (lot of bars to buy... ) full BBK upgrade with a 6pot front 4 pot rear. paint job or whatever...

First off, Welcome to CL. I just noticed you signed up this month. Congrats on the purchase of your GS3.

Now back to your question... Mikal basically nailed it. For $30k, you should be putting out power closer to the 700HP range. There are many other options you need to look into before jumping into this. $30K is alot of money bro...

I'm suprised no one brought this up yet. Do you have a tuner in your area? Looking at your location, I'm assuming you are either shipping your car to SRT or driving it there to have this work done? How far is SRT from you? You do know that once you get this deep into performance, expect to have some problems or bugs that will need to be fixed. If you don't have a shop in your immediate area that can handle your type of setup, you might be in for a long ride. Having your car towed for repairs is no fun.

SRT has put out some monster Lexus vehicles. But the majority of them to my knowledge were somewhat local. Having a tuner near by should be part of your decision making process. Whatever happens, we wish you the best. Good luck...

ok then can u guys help me with this i want power and a sick setup. have the money and want my moneys worth. i dont know of any good tuners for somethn like this in my area. but i definately want it done. so if swap is best than swap it is. but tranny wise auto 4 speed can i keep my manu shift. and for the power i want is it worth it or should i swap out for the 6speed. all i want is nice stable ride and driveability with 5-600whp on pump single setup. i love the supra and always loved the gs3 and now i have one i just want the best of both worlds.
full on recomendations, and i thank you guys very much for the help.

Coil over are over priced as is some of the labour, but when did a set of 850cc injectors only cost 100 bucks????

All in all its too much money spent, that does not even include wheels....

i believe it's $100 to upgrade to 850cc from the 550cc that comes with the stage 3 kit.
