New Intake? Any Idea??

Hi,
Was doing late night reading on some JP sites and found these pics. Any idea who makes it?

It looks like an air-sucker

Wow!!! That looks like one of the main thrusters from the space shuttle!!

I do not like the fact that it does away with the cold air intake.

How do you know that it keeps away cold air getting into it from the picture?

I can't figure the heck of the use of that "space shuttle thruster"... or maybe just like you said it is probably only a houing and does not do the air sucking but only blocks away cold air (or any air).
