Has anyone tried this fluid? I know that it is for motorcycles, but it seems that they have used this on automobiles. Since my TT has been installed, I have always wanted my engine to run cooler. So I did a few things such as open up the front bumper, got a vented hood, changed the stock radiator to a Fluidyne. I just was looking for a little more. If anyone has any experience with this please chime in.
I have the redline water wetter. I haven't used it yet, but those who runs high HP engines have no complaints about it. As long as you dont dump the whole bottle into the radiator, you're fine. I believe for the water wetter, all you need is 1 or 2 capful.
I have used redline water wetter. I ran the whole bottle with 1:3 dilution of radiator fluid:water. Car ran cooler but I want more protection from heat.
Has anyone tried running a cooler thermostat? I"m sure its probably a 195 degrees stock. You could try a 175 or 185..that will make it run cooler. Just dont go too cold or the clearances will tighten up.
I already have the TRD thermostat. It only opens the flow earlier but overall, doesn't really keep the heat down once the car is at it's operating temp. I just want to lower the engine temp overall and 15-30 degrees less would be awesome.
the thermostat can only control the temp of the engine if the other parts that HI98 is mentioning are of adequate cooling properties, which he has already stated they are not. They just aren't disappating the heat fast enough.
fwiw, I too have used waterwetter in my big cc bikes and it does work, but they don't recommend using it with Glycol for best results, so, your freezing protection would get somewhat limited. I'm betting you wouldn't care about that. lol.
I'd be curious about the CFM of those electric fans too.
The oil coller and coatings are definitely good idea's too. Remember, chrome parts hold heat in.
Not many chrome parts under the hood. I am definitely one for more function than form. but if I can have both, then why not. I did think of just using water wetter and water instead of antifreeze/water. But I am not sure if that would be good for my water pump and radiator.
The car doesn't overheat, I just want it to stay cooler espescially when I am boosting.
water plus water wetter is definitely the way to go, more so than coolant.
Other than that, I guess you can somehow rewire the radiator fan to always be on when the car is on. Then again, I'm not sure if the noise will annoy you or not.
