Default Squeaky sound on start up?

Hey guys, I have been starting my car for the past few weeks only to hear this loud squeaking sound. The car runs great its just that there is this really loud squeaking sound like a mouse. It does this all the way until the car is warm. I don't want to sound like i'm driving an '84 Honda anymore!!! What is it?

Thanks,
Elliott

I am having the same issue, however, the sound seems to go away when the AC is turned off. Do you think the tensioner pulley applies to me as well?

i've got the same prob. changed out my belt last week so it is the tensioner pulley. it gets worse if you hit the gas until it is warm though, then it goes away. i'm researching prices too. how much has anyone else found it for? heard it was round 200?

Sounds like the serpentine belt is worn out.

You can easily tell if it is the tensioner pulley. Just look at the top and see if the lines dont match up. If the lines look off a lot you know.

This "squeal" could from any of the bearings on any one of the pulleys under the hood. I've heard alternator bearings do this before they finally go. Hopefully, it's just the tensioner. Have someone start the car while you have the hood open and try and locate the source.

how many miles on the belt? it could be the belt or a bearing. if it is a bearing it's probably the one on the tensioner. mine went bad at about 30k miles and had same symptom, a mild squeek until it warmed up. I thought it was the belt, but I changed it and noise was still there.

Its easy to tell the difference. The belt is a loud squeal and the pully bearing is a squeeeeeak
