Default Supercharger People - Please read

Guys,

You think I could get away with a 2.62 pulley?? I was going to go with a 2.87 but the company doesn't have them in stock and it is going to be several weeks before they can get one in. They said they can ship me out a 2.62 tomorrow.

I was thinking with a Gatorback it may not slip. What do you think? Come on Turbopooh

So you think I should go with a 3.12?

That guy is $20+ more expensive than the other people on there. But then again the auction I won with the other guy - he contacted me 3 days later after I had paid him to tell me there was a misprint on the auction and they ony had an 8-rib. They were cool about it and offered a refund or $10 off a different pulley.

I guess I will just get a refund and go elsewhere.

So do you think 2.87 or 3.12 or what?

you should have no problems with fuel with your 440's for 2.87, but what about slippage?

Jonny- I've been running the 2.62" pulley with a Gatorback belt for awhile now and have been doing just fine Albeit, when I dropped down from the 2.87" pulley I was running out of my 310cc injectors up top so my shop had to tune me down until I go up in injector size. That issue will be solved in the next couple of weeks hopefully once I get a chance to swap out with Morris and his 370cc's inj. As for belt slippage, my thoughts are, it's going to occur regardless as the belt wears/loosens from all the aggressive driving- this will occur regardless of what pulley size you run. A friend here in ATL has a high power SC'd IS300 and he even runs into the same issue, just not as so soon And just so that you know, I've ran them all from the 3.33" all the way down to the 2.62". Now what has seemed to help prolong the inevitable slipping issue was my shop fabricated an additional aluminum support bracket that braces the SC to the engine to prevent SC from flexing forward under full throttle, we noticed that happening while dynoing. If I get and chance and can remember I'll try take some pics and post them here or forward them to you if you'd like. Hope this helps, if you can readily get the 2.62" just go with it, if you're ordering from Vortech as I did, just make sure you have them send to RMM to machine it down to spec. for our application.

I can't remember exactly what they charged it's been so long. I think if you order the pulleys from RMM, in which they acquire the pulley from Vortech and then machine it down to size and ship out to you, it was like $100-130?? Or you can order the pulley yourself ~$72 from Vortech, have them ship to RMM and then RMM charges like $25-$35 to machine it to spec and then ship to you. I would suggest the latter b/c my experience with RMM in the past is that they tend to be "forgetful" and then make excuses for delays.

The pulley's straight from Vortech are a few mm's to wide and cannot be directly mounted to our setup or you will certainly get belt slippage if not the belt jumping off track (learned this firsthand with the 2.87" pulley) So RMM knows the exact specs of the width the pulley needs to be to fit their design. Make sense

Sounds good man. I will get it sent out there and have them do it. Appreciate the responses.
