Default GS300 motor swap questions

Hello everyone, I'm new to the toyota/lexus world. I'm very interested in finding out exactly what is involved with installing a 2jz-gte into GS300 2nd gen? Is the 2jz-gte motor the best choice? What year motors are compatible? Whats parts are needed? I'm sure this has been asked a million times but if someone could direct me to a previous forum thread or website that could help me, I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks

Welcome to CL.

What everyone will tell you is to do an advanced search trying different key words. There haven't been a ton of motor swaps, but waiting for those who have done it to post a response, might take longer than searching.

Your screenname attracted my attention, since I just came back from the race at Laguna Seca this weekend.

Are you really from Florida as your profile states?

It 's curious that you would pick a location in Cali for a screen name.

I do live in florida, I chose that screenname because I currently own a honda civic that I had painted Laguna Seca Blue (BMW M3 Blue). I'm looking into buying a GS and installing the turbo motor in it. I'm just lost because everything I know is Honda. I have to learn all the do's and dont's all over again.

Your best bet for a motor swap is to buy a GS300. Doesn't matter what year it is or how many miles becaues you're dropping a new motor. I'm about to buy a second GS300 as a project car and drop in a 2JZ-GTE VVTi (SupraTT motor) into it. You should look into this as well.

Check w/ Bluelex he has one of the sweetest engine swaps.

He is from Fl. also. I do believe there is a shop that specialize in in those swaps. Bluelex can steer you to them.
