Default Had the Belts Changed now my car is ****ty

I had my fathers mechanic change the serpinetine and timing belts. my father picked the car up for me while i was at work.. When i got home.... the car's check engine light was on, the "VSC" and "VSC OFF" lights were on. And now the car has a rough idle... and feels like its going to stall / has no pick up.. Anyone know whats wrong.... so i can tell this guy what has to be done...

Thanks
J

Check all your vacuum hoses and make sure the MAS is reconnected. Just a couple of suggestions to get you started.

I am just assuming he didnt put something back after the install. Dont think serpintine or timing belt would be bad.....dont think the car would run or start if that was it

disconnect your battery and let the car reset itself for 10 minutes. reconnect and see what happens next. if the problem still persists, check your MAF sensor like Alex said, some people accidentally put it in backwards or it may be dirty.

Check all the connections on your throtal body. Even if they look ok unplug them and plug them back in. Run by a parts store and check the CEL codes it will most likely tell you where your problem is.

Check the timing belt tensioner, he may have forgotten to tighten it. Rough idle seems like a timing issue to me.

I had the same exact problem the VVTi prob. was not set correctly. At least that's what my issue was. Good Luck.

Could be a lot of things. I would get a scanner and scan the code.
