I checked my ATF on my 99' gs300 couple of times today and it's a little a bit pass the full mark. i had it changed couple of months ago and wonder if i over fill it. I filled it with 2.5 qt. toyota ATF. Before i check it, i warm it up and shift it to each position and put in park to check. is that how you suppose to check it? and is it ok for it to be a little pass full mark? thanks in advance.

Do not worry too much, you should be fine even if you're .25'' higher than 'full mark''

 

You are checking with the engine running in park, I would assume?
A little bit over should be transparent, a quarter inch over on the dipstick, drain out a little.

 

yes, i checked while in park. I also checked my other lexus and they are a little over the full mark. don't know why but i guess its ok
