SRT Intake Question! Need help
Is this worth a buy?? Some guy told me its brand new but he only installed and used it for a day...
Is it worth buying for $400?? Need some input asap. It says it retails for about 800 on swiftracing.com

Here's a pic of it,
Diesel - Well, at one time there was no question of it's value as there was no other option. However, SilverGS & the other guys with the APEXi setup MIGHT be on to something that's at least a little more tunable. Still, I'm very loyal to Mo & Swift ( would be more so IF I EVER GOT MY STICKERZ!!!
). HINT - HINT!!
While I didn't get quite the improvements that Mo's test mule did, I came close enough to feel that I got my money's worth & that's what it's all about for me. I'd go ahead & get the SRT piece & if ya don't like it, it shouldn't be difficult to resell at a small profit ( $400 is cheap - think I paid a little over $500 for mine but it was part of a package deal with the T/C & Borlas ). Enjoy!

just make sure it comes with the piggyback ECU too, if not then its a waste of money, the Weapon*R intake can be had for 200 and it flows better and is quieter, but if it comes with the ECU then its probobly the best deal u'll find
Sasha - Good advice but if that's a picture of the actual HFI for sale, then that's the piggyback ECU directly below the 2 vacumn hoses ( on the upper right side of the pic - U can faintly read "GS430" written on it with a grease pencil ). It also has a cream-colored Molex plug ( just follow the wires from out of the black boxed ECU ) which allow U to unplug the Swift ECU from the hardwired connections U must solder into the factory ECU. Diesel, make sure U get the spare bypass Molex plug that snaps in here. What this will do is allow the car to be driven in case the Swift ECU goes stupid on ya. It's unlikely but it DID happen to me - somehow the SRT ECU went out so I unplugged the piggyback lead Molex plug & installed the spare Molex plug ( which is nothing more than a jumper & makes the factory ECU think nothing's been done to the intake system ). The car felt down on power as it couldn't compensate for the additional airflow of the SRT intake piping with extra fuel but the "Check Engine" light went off & stayed off until Mo could ship me another ECU. BTW - Mo sent it UPS overnight so I wasn't out of sorts for more than a day & half. Good service as usual from Swift!
for that price, if it comes with the ecu then its a good deal, but if you ever plan to change things such as exhaust or if you want a different intake or something, then that ecu isnt retuneable i think. the weapon r ecu that y2kgs uses from weapon-r is but is pretty expensive and there arent any deals for it yet. another way you can go is with the weapon-r intake, apexi afc, which will cost you around $500 and $300 for tuning, so if you dont want to spend that much money, $400 is a great deal for an intake/ecu package.
Cool Gene, i actually thought it was a custom MAF because it seemed that It would Fit into that opening no prob haha i guess i always pictured the SRT ECU different.
