I'm sure you can pass emission test no problem. You probably wont' pass the visual test though. I know for my old car, they checked everything (visually) to make sure I didn't have any parts I shouldn't have.
K&N makes a CARB certified intake. I am currently running an SRT but will swap back to the K&N before I go back for the yearly smog (20 minutes max). I have run several different after market exhausts and they don't care as long as everything is clean and the cats have not been touched. I'm going to try a slip the new headers past this years smog. <knock on wood>
as long as it's cat back there is no problem for smog
and for instake, yes, seems like k&n and injen are the only two. srt for sure will fail, together with rmm
headers will fail if they see it, so make it look old
I was thinking also if you can get your old exhaust manifold covers off with damaging them, maybe you can get them back on enough to cove the new headers You might have to cut it a little to get it to fit the new headers. Just an idea.
For intakes the CARB sticker is needed to pass the visual. If you had the K&N but no sticker you would not pass.
For exhausts, what Rom said - anything cat back is fine unless it fails the loudness test.
I'm not worried about the headers - these guys don't know - I'll just make them look "old" with some black & rust colored paint. They do know where the cats are - so as long as they are in the same location there should not be an issue. I recall hearing that the old manifold covers would be very tough to mount over the headers (no mounting points).

redgs4 is correct...I tried to get my smog done yesterday, and the guys told me that my K&N (which doesnt have a carb sticker) will not pass. But he also said I needed a carb sticker for my exhausts, which are bolt on??? That was new to me. Anyway, Ive been waiting for the new carb sticker/cert from K&N for months now...may have to just switch back to stock intake (if I can find one for sale in the classifieds)...

please go to another smog station, mark, the one you went to is not worth your time and money. bottom line is ANY cat back system will NOT affect emission and won't affect smog. it could be loud as hell, but smog has no requirement on the db. i have gotten my gs smog twice with exhaust without a single problem. they did question me (when they see my car with exhaust) if i have intake, but as soon as they saw my engine bay they said it's all good
