Default Magnaflow Mufflers....

I've had several people inquire about my past exhaust and now my "soon to be" set up so I thought I would just post some information about it.

Past set-up (before accident) Magnaflow 14829 mufflers with tips

The problem with these on the GS is that it has a center input/center output....kind of tricky for the installer to get then in there because of space and the heat shields. They can be done though and looks good.

My new set-up will be the same size muffler but with an offset/offset in and output. The only thing different is that they dont make them with the tips installed. But you can buy the same tip and have the installer weld them together. See below

That's what I had done on my GS- used their offset in/offset out and had extensions made so we could get the tips out fush with the Explosion bumper.

That's all gone now... just put two of these on... with 35122 tips.
I had the 4x9 mufflers before. With the 5x8, I was surprised (and pleased) with how much more sound there was. The 1UZ sounds sweet uncorked a bit!

Would either of you mind posting up a sound clip or even video with your exhaust?

It would be helpful if you could.

Mine is in the shop but I'm pretty sure that someone has posted a clip before. I love the exhaust sound.....not to loud....just enough. For $280 before install....you can't beat it.

I'm assuming that your new mufflers in/out offset are the #14235?

Just wanted to confirm that.

thanks,
kyle

Why would you get the ones with the offset? It is a bit more restrictive, and not a straight through design like the 14829. My installer mandrel bent my piping and it fits like a glove. Does your installer have the machine to mandrel bend?

hey AZ...thanks i'm good but sore...

Sean is right... I have ..oh i mean had the 14829..they were perfectly centered and looked great. I didn't have any fiitment issues..I had my guy put flanges and they were direct bolt on to the oem flanges.

The coupon code knocks off 10% off of the price and your getting it direct from magnaflow. Thats their site.

The offset/offset is still a straight through design...just a minor curve from the input to the output. I really don't think there will be any difference regarding restiction between the 2. The shop does have a mandrel pipe bender but when I was watching him do the install I could see that it would be a pretty aggresive angle going into the input of the 14829 to have them come straight out. As you can see from my old set-up they are slightly angled out....but not much. I figured I would do something a bit different.

I'm trying to get that "Carson Tuned exhaust" look.......
