Default GS430 Mods concern...

I have a GS430 and for now all i have are magnaflow mufflers. Still have the resonators in which ill have removed within the next week or so. Some concerns of mine are whether its safe to supercharge this engine seeing as ive done a lot of driving on it so its got 103k miles. Compression tests in each spark plug hole show its very healthy, all of them are right at or around 170psi. but still 103k miles is 103k miles no matter what. I was considering the SRT intake w/Race ECU but after reading some posts about it, its not so much the noise that bothers me because i'd honestly like my car to be a little louder, but its the fact that people say they overall werent 399 dollars and 95 cents impressed with the power of the intake. Anyway, im pretty much looking to overall better my car in every way but i want to start with power, also im looking into doing sway bars but from what ive seen when i had my car on the lift it seems they're pretty difficult to get to, can someone provide some insight into this? Again, this is coming from me which i used to own a WRX, so mods on that were so easy its not even funny.

I will comment on the sway bars. They are very easy to change. Go with the Daizen sways. You can do them in your driveway no problem. If you go with the Daizen's you will have to remove and flip around the end supports for the rear bar. Not a big deal, just an extra step. The fronts are real easy. You should be able to do both in about an hour or so.

i cant comment on an SRT on an 400, but my friend has one on his IS and it does make a difference provided you install it correctly.

103k miles is alot techinically, but these engines last forever. you've got plenty of time and mileage to be modding.

The engines are built like a brick *****house. 6 bolt mains too! Lexus built these engines for toughness and reliability and lobgevity. Sure 100K is alot, but you won't be slapping a blower on it and putting 25 psi through it. Your best mod for bang for the buck is definitely a torque converter....

About $700 for the TC and $500-$600 for the install at a competent shop.

Although not all, pretty much the majority use the Precision Industries Dragon TC. You can read more on it here:

http://www.converter.com/dragon.htm

You may see some that are said to be RMM ones but they resell the PI TCs (for more ).

As for TRD vs Daizen, if you do a search, you will find the heated discussions on the two. I really don't want to rehash it here as the camps will come out. I will leave it at I've had both and prefer the Daizens hands down for my needs.
