put it into M to the left of D and then just drive around pressing the buttons, the buttons on the front are to downshift and the ones behind the steering wheel are to upshift.

if you leave it in 5 on your E-shift display (under the Speedo) it will be an auto up to 5th gear, so dont worry its not gonna lug around in 5th. you can only go down to 2nd in e-shift (i think i dont have it) and then you must press upshift if you want to get to three. Bassicly e-shift is a gear limiter. if you put in it 3, it will be an auto tranny up to 3, you can downshift and upshift as you please

for example if you're getting off the freeway and slowing down you can press down to hear your engine yell as it downshifts and engine braking (not breaking) starts, it love that sound

so its basiclly like an auto up to the gear you select, and then if you press down while in a higher gear it will downshift to taht gear

hope this helps.

a suggestion would be just go driving aroudn with e-shift and get used to how it functions, dont worry if you downshift to 2nd while going 100MPH it wont do it, it wont downshift, so dont worry about that

have fun!

Default My favorite use of e-shift...

Going up an on-ramp to a highway, behind someone who isn't accelerating fast, so the GS left in D would slip to 4th or even 5th - so I put it into M and keep the car in 3rd. As soon as I can get on the highway, toe down, ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM. Buh bye

Default Beeping Noise

OK i have a question. While using EShift around 4th gear or 3rd gear, i heard a beeping noise. I can't remember once or twice beeping noises. What is that? Any clues?

That was probably when you were in 3rd. You can't shift down to 2nd in e-shift before the car has warmed up.

Is engine breaking BAD for the engine in any way using any of these kind of e-shift and tiptronic type transmissions?

I dunno, the feeling just feels unnatural to me which in turn makes me hesitate to do it....though it is quite helpful in certain situations!
