Default Turbo GS3 or go with GS4?

Well guys right now I have a GS3 and need some power. Should I trade up to a GS4 or should I turbo the GS3? I am really looking for the best bang for my buck. How much do you think I will have to add for a GS4?

Go do an extended drive on a GS4. If its enough power for you, sell yours and buy one IMO

If it's not look into FI for your GS3. It'll take some decent $$ invested (more than the differential between GS3 and GS4) to get the GS3 as fast.

all I can say is I would rather have the reliability of factory v8 displacement as opposed to aftermarket FI, even if we're talking about the same power. I know the 2JZ block is bullet-proof up to 600, maybe 700 rwhp with stock internals, but I would prob go through the inconvenience of going to a new vehicle (GS4) to save any potential headaches down the road.

Just go to KBB.com or edmunds and do a used car cost for exactly the same car / same options except do one GS3 and one GS4.

I'd guess a turbo for a VVT-I GS3 plus all the stuff you'd do along with it to make it equal or slightly better than a GS4 is at least $5k (SRT Stage 1 kit is $4995) plus $1K for install and tuning. This is the minimum buy-in unless you have the skills to cobble together a setup yourself....

KBB is saying I would have to add about 5k for a GS4. Does that sound about right. Or should it be greater or lesser?

go with gs400.

less headache if something goes wrong. As reliable as toyota engines are, aftermarket force induction will always put more strain on the engine. Either go with a complete 2jz-gte swap ( ) or take the GS400 (I'm guessing more low end torque).
