Default Totaled Turbo GS Update

It's official: the insurance company declared the car a total loss! The good news is that was virtually no damage to my motor and transmission except for the turbos that got damaged. Now the bad news. Although my insurance gave me a fair offer, which could cover for the replacement of a stock 2002 GS300, I will still lose close to $20,000 after the dust settles. In addition, I was informed by my insurer that the other party is claiming injuries that exceed the $80,000 limit on my policy and that I will more likely be sued by the other party although I was not the one driving!

I have learned a lot about car insurance and injuries over those past couple of days. More than I cared to learn. However, instead of letting this bring me down, I have decided to turn this into a positive experience and with the help of a few lawyers will be starting injuryxperts.com. I wlll let you guys know when the site is ready for launch. Oh, and by the way, housingxperts.com is a direct result of that as well

At any rate, except for the motor and transmission, which are already spoken for by one of the members here, you can expect to see a lot of the parts I was able to salvage show up soon in the classifieds. I will start a thread there when I find out what they are worth or may be you guys can give me an idea. Here is what I have:

Twin Turbo Supra Calipers with aproximately 12,000 miles (include one week old genuine supra pads)
Front ABS sensors (tested)
Tein Type Flex Coil Overs with aproximately 12,000 miles (they were not damaged during the accident)
01+ tail lights
Rear view mirror with built in compass
Brand new still in box leatherseats.com seat covers
1 SSR GT1 (to be used as spare. It will clear even the massive twin turbo supra calipers)

The other electronics such as HKS SLD Type II, TRL Boost cut controller, HKS EVC PRO, Blitz Turbo timer are all part of the engine package and are not for sale.

Let me guys know what you think and mods, if you feel that this post violates forum rules, please feel free to take it down. Thanks

I too hope it all works out as good as it can for you. I'm a little new to offer my opinion of costs for your used parts, but I'm sure the more experienced here will step up to the plate. Your friend, the driver, is he helping out ?

I'm glad to see it worked out with the engine part of the claim, sad to read about the law suit but I think you kind of figured that would come. Good luck with the law suit and the lawyers..

As far as parts.
I think you can ask $250.00 for the tails
Flex's have lots of miles on them and go for 1500.00 new so asking for $700-800 seems fair.
Mirror, mabye ask for $100-150
Leatherseats.com covers depends? are they the 2 tone leather covers? 2 tone with suede inserts options or are they the oem 1 tone leather replacements?
SSR wheel maybe something like $250-300 I would think..

best of luck on the lawsuit, I hope that all works out. Ive been through one myself with my old family business, and they are draining both financially and emotionally.

Thankfully though you were able to get some fai rcompensation on the salvaged car, so best or luck too with the sale of the parts, with the purchase of a new car, and also with the launch of your websites.

Thanks for the guidelines, Adrian The seat covers are the 1 tone OEM replacement.

As for the LSD and and 3200 Stall, they were already spoken for by one of the members here even before the accident...lol What I have listed here is pretty much it. Sorry.

As for the sites, I have already made some very good contacts and those into Internet marketing will certainly recognize the names of Joe Vitale and John Reese. I will keep you updated

Sorry for accident and all the legal issues. My car was broken into the day before X-mas and it is still in the shop. All I had was a broken window but the insurance company and the dealer keep going back and forth over all the damaged items. It is over 5K in damage right now and you really don't even notice any damage. Oh well, hopefully I will get the car back today or tomorrow. Also, I would be greatly interested in the Supra brakes so put me on the list for those. Also, what color is the leather? If it is grey, I would be interested since the insurance company is paying to have my passenger seat repaired I figured I would just do the whole interior for the money they are giving me. The rearview mirror with compass would be cool to have as well if it is grey. Thanks, Bill.

Isn't asking $250 a bit much for those tails considering what they cost new? maybe $200??? Just a thought....
