Can anyone give me a quick explanation on what pulleys are? What do they do?

I JUST ORDER THE PULLEY SET. THE PULLEYS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE LIGHTER AND THE CRANK WHEEL IS SUPPOSED TO BE UNDERDRIVEN TO CREATE MORE HORSEPOWER. IT'S SUPPOSE TO CREATE 14-18 MORE HP THROUGH THE LIGHTER PULLEYS!!

Is there any disadvantage by having aftermarket pulleys?

NOT WITH THESE. THE ONLY THING THAT IS UNDERDRIVEN IS THE CRANK PULLEY. THE REST OF THE ACCESSORY PULLEYS ARE STILL THE SAME IN THE WAY WAY THE BELT IS OVER THEM AND THE SAME IN DIAMETER. THEY ARE JSUT LIGHTER IN WEIGHT. THIS IS HOW THEY ACCOMPLISH CREATING THE HORSEPOWER.

i heard that aluminum expands under high heat, does this apply to these pulleys? also, will these pulleys affect the harmonic thing?

NOT AT ALL !! THESE PULLEYS ARE TESTED INDUVISUALLY BEFORE BEING EVER SHIPPED OUT FOR ALL THESE THINGS. THEY ARE ALSO WARRANTIED!! WHERE DID YOU HERE ABOUT THE PULLEYS?

i think they said 15-18hp for a gs300, im not sure if they have one available for a gs430 yet.

racingaristo,
how do your tein-ha feel? is it easy to adjust the height yourself?

I have my connection with unorthodox.

I enjoy my coilover very much. It's not harsh or anything IMO. I'd definitely pick TEIN HA over Eibach/Bilstein. As for the height adjustment, you need to remove the wheels before you can do that. Then you use the wrenches to adjust to the desired heights. It's not hard but rather annoying because sometimes you don't put the same heights on 4 wheels. Thus you need to (1)remove wheels (2) adjust (3) put on wheels and observe and etc until everything is fine.

if aluminum is not the best for pulleys then HKS and Unorthodox wouldn't use it. It's probably the lightest yet the cheapest to reproduce. If it's titanium it would cost too much.
