Default Anyone heard of these new systems?

Ok, so I talked to some guy today who tunes race cars and is into racing for years. Sounds very experienced. He directed me to this site www.zex.com. What he said is those guys came out with some new system recently that uses automatic NOs sprays. He said there is no way you could possibly burn the engine with it, 'cause it is managed by computer, and as soon as it feels that it sprays too much, it shuts it down. I'm not a mechanic, but this is something close to how he explained it. Anyways, he was telling me that he has a stock 4 cylinder Toyota Solara which he tuned up to 1/4 mile for 8 sec. Sounds impossible for 4-cyl, but he said it's possible with this new system from that site. All he said you need for best results is a good exhaust and high performance spark plugs. He also upgraded his Dodge truck with HEMI engine, and tuned it to some unbelievable HPs. My GS300, he said he could easily upgrade with this system and tune up to 400 bhp, and it will cost me only around $700.
So, is anyone familiar with this stuff? How does this site look to you?

400HP for the GS300 without toasting the engine with just cold plugs, intake, exhaust, and $700.00?

Tell him to put down the crack pipe.

I'm pretty sure the sight is allright, being the zex is a fairly large nos supplier, but as far as an 8 sec. sorala on just nos... That I'd have to see to believe, and even then I still might not believe it.

CinFluxGS4: Sent you a PM on that bridge, any pics??? J/K

Well, he also said that he does different tricks with ECU, and some additional tuning is involved except for just NOs system. Anyway, I just had ZEX team got back to me with the setup for my car's specifications. The price is around $650, and the guy is willing to install it for me. So, I think I might go this route. I'll let you guys know if I end up puting this system in...

Interesting....so your car will get only 1 mpg after the mod...LOL!!! Seriously, what if something goes wrong, or the engine gets toasted a few months after this install....will ZEX warranty it?

I could be wrong here but I'm guessing the guy meant he has worked on an 8 sec solara. There are a couple solaras going even faster than that, look at the Street Glow team for instance.

I dont think he was implying he made a solara go 8s with just a Zex kit.

There is nothing wrong with the Zex kts, they are decent kits with few parts to go wrong. If your looking for anything over a 100 shot I would look into a NOS kit or a NX kit though.

Ok, so this makes an 8sec. solara reasonable, but from your first post I took it to be stock with just a NOS kit. It's all good though. Good luck with the kit, and let us know how things turn out.
