i hope so!!!
In all honestly, he will tackle any task. He builds mustang headers, and does welding, and tig welding also. He builds many 10-9 sec stang motors. When he put my greddy exhaust on he wanted to make me a x pipe a while back, so i figure I would get that done finally. Like I said I could prob get these on within a 4-7 days if I had them, and be out a minimal amount.
I think if you guys shop around, you'll find someone competant that will not charge by the book. When I visted the shops in Houston, if they started to pull out the book, I politely said thank you very much and goodbye. The job isn't that complicated, just time consuming. After seeing it done, I'd probably be game on the install myslef with a friend and some jack stands...and of course a bible
A good tip is to weld on the bolts that go from the header to the cats beforehand. This took my guy close to 2 hrs to manually thread Good luck guys.
Hey gawd it been a few weeks since you've had the headers. What are your reviews on them now?
Yeah, I was wondering the same thing.
Also, is there any chance you would put together an installation guide of some kind? Not necessarily every single step, but at least some helpful tips (like you just posted) and some general procedures etc.? I know you posted some in that loooong header thread somewhere, but maybe a seperate post that could become a "sticky" ?
It would certainly be appreciated and would save lots of people some money and hassle... Thanks in advance!
Hey guys, sorry I've been away so long. Work has just been a bear lately. I really haven't had much time to goof with the car lately, I've ordered a S-AFC, TM plugs, and BG injector cleaner to help with the running rich problem on my car. All of which have been sitting for nearly 3 weeks. The headers look good with no pealling or cracking on physical inspection and I haven;t had any heat issues with any accessoris or lines near the headers, which is great news.
i really haven't noticed anythign different except for a louder idle when the car starts up in the morning, it may just be my hypersensativity. Performance seems the same and gas milieage has kept the improvement of 1mpg, also no CEL lights or any other bad signs.
As for the DIY, I think the header thread has a great little guide that I wrote the day after the install. It's probably a better or the best guide that I can give to you guys, sicne it was so fresh after the install. I'd be happy to answer any questions that I can here on this thread or another one more specific to the header install when the time comes and as tiem permits. The best tips I can give you guys is to make sure you let the car cool down, it took my car over 4 hrs to get cool enough before they were willing to work on it. Make sure you buy some liquid wrench for those pesky nuts and bolts, especially for those members who live up north and drive on salt laden roads. The best tip is to prethread and possibly tack the bolts that go from the header to the cat, this will save you a minimum f 1 hour and a bunch of grief. Other than that, everything is very straightforward, so just take you time and make it a weekend project. Hope that helps ....
OK, the info on the header thread will be helpful and the tip on the header to cat bolts is good...
Kinda disappointed to hear that the headers don't seem to make as much of a difference as we had hoped, but I'm sure with some careful tuning with the SAFC and a good dyno it will improve somewhat.
Are u saying that there is no gain in performance with these headers?
If I read it right he said he doesn't have much to go on because he hasn't had time to really wring it out, but on his limited experience he hasn't noticed any gains.

Actually, he wrote in the header thread that he felt the gains were very noticeable. I interperet his remarks to say that those gains are still the same and the gas mileage gains are still there. Some increases in power are temporary (like a re-set of the computer) and then go away. I think what gawd is saying is the gains stayed. Maybe he will clarify but that is my take.
Yes, sorry for for the misunderstanding there. The gains are still the same as they were when the headers where intially installed. There is a noticable difference at higher RPMs. I thought everyone wanted an update from the last time I posted until now. Didn't mean to scare everyone
