I originally planned on going with a GTE swap but have decided that it is not worth the trouble since this isn't going to be a drag car. So instead, I'm in the process of adding a custom FI setup on my '99 GS 300. I've done some searches but really haven't found the answer to my questions. What are the HP limitations of the stock GS3 transmission? Will a aftermarket tourque converter suffice to alleviate any problems or will a built trans be needed? I see that there are several companies that upgrade the factory trans (i.e. Sound Performance)...any recommendations on which shop to go with? My WHP goal is going to be between 450 and 500. Any help you guys can offer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
