Since we're on this subject, I'm also surprised that the air box isn't completely sealed off from the engine compartment - there's space on the bottom, from what I can tell in the pics on the SRT website.

Blue if you make it up to CLT I'm sure we can find one of the local guys with the intake to give you a ride.

I've always wanted the SRT intake/ECU for my ride. I did the HKS muffliers and the PI torque convertor first and I'm certainly very happy with them.

I'm jealous! I don't have $475 to drop on that right now but I sure wish I did!

Of course, then there's the $1000 Supra rear-end, then the $300 or so swaybars, $300 Strut Tower Brace,....OH, $600 for headers.... Sheesh. I'm going to have to start pimping myself out down-town!!

Let us know how you like it!

Cant wait to see some pics. I ordered mine from Gordon at Carson Toyota today. Actually I had ordered it about 1.5 weeks ago but they forgot to tell me that they didn't have in stock. I spoke to Gordon today and he straightened out the mistake and is having the supplier drop ship it to my address. Cant wait, hope the noise level is not too high.

that'll only reduce the hawking (sound of air going through the filter) noise. It won't address the rumbling noise, which you actually hear through the exhaust system (stock or aftermkt). The stock airbox/air silencer reduces the air turbulance going into the engine. Removing it causes the air to be more turbulent, which causes the rumble noise.

There's no way to defeat aftermkt intake rumble noise
