Stalled twice in last 2 weeks??
Hey guys, Im new to the boards, I just bought my 2000 GS400 about a month ago. It runs great, but Ive noticed that twice in the past 2 weeks that it has stalled on me while driving. It happened yesterday as I was pulling into my house and it just died.
Wondering if anybody has experienced this before or maybe have an idea of whats going on?? Any help is appreciated. The car has 47,500 miles on it.
Thanks again!

Its probably the low idle issue with the GS400.
I know 400 owners who turn on their parking light to provide enuff current draw....thats a quick fix.
Another is adjusting the throttle cable to a bit higher idle rpm to keep the engine from dying on you.
Lastly, do an advanced search....there should be quite a bit on the "low idle", "stalling", etc... issue. I think someone mentioned their dealer replaced the throttlebody and Mass AirFlow sensor...and their car is like new.

Thanks Pete, I was just reading on the low idle issue. I know the first time it stalled was when I was driving down the street though, cant remember if I had taken my foot off the accelerator though. I will have to really pay attention to it when it happens again.
Is this something Lexus dealerships will correct, or is this one of the small things that us car owners have to deal with?
Thanks,
Tony

Well....call your dealer ASAP. It may be a Technical Service Bulletin...even if you bought the car from a private owner....some dealers may fix it without any cost to you. Never hurt to ask, right?
Good luck.

Yeah I just called Longo, I need to call back to schedule an appt. My bumper to bumper is done, but Im still covered under the powertrain. I dont need any more problems. I have a 480whp Eclipse Im trying to get rid of that is why I bought the GS4, so I can have a car that runs everyday. Oh well...Ill keep everyone posted.
Thanks.
Thanks.
