i was underneath my car the other day and i found some oil on the rear differeantial. it looks like its leaking where the rear diff meet the shaft that it connects to. is there a gasket there? can it be easily replaced? thanks
Actually, if it is the rear axle seal, you don't need to remove the differential. You will need to drop the carrier and remove the axle hub then change the oil seal. You would also be better off changing the O ring on that peice as well. I will try to post an exploded diagram of what I am talking about ASAP.
If it is in the front where the drive shaft connects to the diff carrier, then you will need to remove the differential.

why are you using a supra diff?
It took 1.5 I think. I have a Supra limited slip diff with higher ring gear (provides lower final ratio) which means better traction and more power to the ground (but lower top speed).
The differential you want is one from a AUTOMATIC TT Supra. Keep in mind that NOT all automatic TT supras had LSD installed. Most do, but some did not.
