Default 98 GS300 Differential

Hey guys, we are going to be replacing the diff on Rod's turbo GS with a TRD unit and I want ot make sure that the TRD unit for the turbo supra will work on the GS or is there a different unit we should be ordering. No one at Toyota seems to know.

Info straight from the horses, er, mouth. TRD part # 41301-js401is the lsd used on the aristo with either 2jz engine. I believe thats the same # on 98 and later Supras- Check out - www.l-tunedparts.com - Carson Toyota for listing of TRD parts #'s. Don't forget the lsd lubebricant--- Rod

the ring gear from the GS300s have less teeth than the supra twin turbo autos...

correct me someone if i'm wrong, but the GS300s have a gear ratio taller than
the supra twin turbo 3.76 gearing...

i think because of this, the ring gear will not fit around the diff of a supra twin turbo auto...

if Rod needs lower gearing... i have a 98 supra twin turbo auto diiff that was removed from Mike
Carlin's supra...

I bought it thinking I would use it, but never got around to it.
As you know Lar, it's an open diff...
