Default Help! Started the car but then the car doesn't move. Intake problem?

Hey guys, I was driving my GS430 home the other day, then during a stop light i sudden hear the air hissing sound from the intake. After the light turns green, the car wouldn't move. Then the car moved a little after 4rpm, but fearing to damage the car, my friend and I just push the GS to an safe location. (yep, it is very heavy T_T)

I could still start the car now, just that whenever I step on gas, it feels like the intake isn't breathing air well. It sounds like the intake is struggling to suck enough air in. I am thinking to exchange a filter but wondering if there is any suggestion from the experts

thanks in advance for taking the time to help. much is appreciated.

Wei.

Pretty easy to check. Open the hood and remove the engine cover. Inspect all of the clamps on the intake. Remove the air filter and inspect it. Check the intake for any blockages. I once had a similar issue but the problem was a bad Accelerator Position Sensor.

Wei,

Your sig says you have the Weapon R and ECU combination, is this correct? If you have the ECU, make sure the connections are all still solid.

yea, dave, I do have that combination, after checking everything today, I have no choice but to tow it. It seems more like a transmission problem now, I could only hope my TC doesn't really cause any major malfunction. (because the warranty is void based on aftermarket parts) We'll get a result tomorrow, i'll let you guys know first hand T_T

I think this is quite important since this has a lot to do with anyone who wanna do the TC upgrade on their 430.

Thanks a lot for the help and inputs guys, very appreciated , dave, tranman, and pearlpower

Damn bro sorry to see this happen to a fellow CL member. I once had my Maxima tranny go and it seemed like what you are going through. It wouldn't move in drive or overdrive but then put it in 2nd and it went backwards!!! Thats when I knew I was in trouble. Luckily it was under factory warranty.
Well goodluck.

I agree with Tranman... It sounds more like a vacuum problem or something related to the engine. Maybe the Weapon R ECU failed. Did your check engine light come on? I would imagine your tranny would give you some minor issues before completely failing, i.e. not shifting right, making a whinning noise, etc. Hopefully everything works out okay.
