Default Power Steering Issue

Hi everyone, i recently had a battery change and in doing so my power steering light has turned on and stopped working. Ive checked the module and fuses and found plugs and everything is wired in properly and not blown. Just trying to find out what to do as it scans and come up with these codes
C1515
C1525
We tried to recalibrate but at the end of it, it says communication failed and then we cant proceed.

Any tips please???

Mine happened right after a battery change as well. In order to fix it, I removed the battery, lifted the Cover from underneath the battery which was covering up the power steering ECM. I unplugged both ends of it and took it out and made sure it was free of debris. And then used a little dielectric grease on both of the tabs and reinstalled it. It reprogrammed itself and I have not had a problem at all. Hope that helps.

Did you check the relay located under the hood on the driver side? Yoi can see on top of the fuse lid, which one is for the power steering. Just swap it out with another one that looks just like it and see if that helps.
I meant the fuse which on mine number 24. Also, you can take the negative and positive off of the battery and touch the two cables together for 20 or 30 minutes and that actually resets the ECU as well. It worked for me once. Both completely off the battery of course

Is your drivers seat on

the left-hand side or right hand side? Where are you located?

Did you do a search in this forum for power steering issues? There seems to be quite a lot.

Hey, non of us cab tell from that angle and with the cover on. The fuse function is just like that of an ATC fuse. If the Z section has an open in it, it's dead and needs replaced. Use your RHD fuse cover location to identify 80A fuse location. Remove clear cover or use a mirror and inspect it.

Does this have an auto tilt column? Those have been known to chaff wires. If no corrosion was found at EPS ECU connectors (3x), I'd pull lower covers and inspect rack connections.

Also do a web search of Toyota error codes you listed. That steering position sensor is used in a lot Toyotas. Rarely does it fail but there could be one.

Did you swap battery or a shop?
