Has anyone done a y pipe to their is350? Im doing research on the 2gr swapped mr2's, and most of their exhaust work is y piped, the lotus 2gr line also sounds much better than any exhaust systems I've seen people do on their is350's. I think the average is350 sounds too vq like and I'm not the biggest fan of that, so has anyone done anything else that really gets that really exotic sound out of the 2gr?

there are 2 y pipes already on the car for stock piping.. not sure if you’ve looked.. 2 out of engine, y into 1 for resonator and splits again for 2 mufflers. Going true dual would most likely get you that exotic sound your looking for.
I have secondary cats removed, vibrant ultra quiet resonator and tanabe axle back mufflers.. sounds great wot, not ricey at all
Borla makes an cross-over that basically siamese the pipes. Basically run duals in/out of this and place mufflers where are resonators then duals out the back with tips. I.e. no mufflers at the tail of the car. Feasibly one could forgo the extra mufflers but I bet it would be too loud without them.
Yeah, just realized that I posted that on the 2is channel rather than 3is, nonetheless, I definitely got the high-pitched 2gr scream out of my current setup. Here are some clips, its fully custom, stock fks headers. No one else has this setup (used to be one more person which is who I got it from but they sold the car.)
