Default Is350 becoming sluggish

Hi all,

stuck in a bit of a frustrating dilemma and looking for some advice or thoughts on the matter.

I drive a 2012 IS350 F-sport, with 98,000 Km on the odo. Everything on the car from top to bottom is maintained perfectly. But for some reason the car runs sluggish, the gas pedal feels easy to push down and the car goes nowhere. The only time the car felt good to drive and was really quick was when my brother messed with the air circulation settings. The gas pedal felt firm and when pressed slightly, the car takes off like a rocket. I’ve tried messing with the traction control, sport mode, heat/ac settings, and nothing is fixing this.

Any advice about this?

Whats the maintenance on engine. Whens the last time it had a tune up?

Spark plug change comes to mind, TB cleaning, Air filter. Any rough idle while car is stationary?

Might want to clean MAF sensor with CRC MAF cleaner.

The maintenance is up to date, I just did throttle body and MAF cleaning two days ago. Everything else is done very recently. No rough idling. The engine only has 98,000 Km on it. My brother and father say the car runs fine to them. But just those odd days it feels powerful and I want to keep it like that. I don’t have any engine codes either.

Are you using top tier fuel? Another is these cars have super intrusive nannies in place. This is why I upgrade my steering ECU to the ISF ECU.

As for now don't mash on the gas from a stand point. You have to learn to feather the throttle these systems are not like traditional TB with cable. There will be a delay to input. If you mash the gas it will just bog down. Try to just press the pedal about half way to see how it reacts. If that makes sense.

Another is check out live data on the car. It could be doing weird things, and not setting off a CEL.

OP - turn the key off, let it set for 2 minuets for NAV to settle if equipped. Disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 to 10 min.

Reconnect Neg cable. You'll need to reset the windows. Also, it might die the first time you start it. Just start it again.

Also, run some fuel system cleaner through it.

ok yeah resetting the ECU sounds good. Am I going to lose anything like my key fob signal or my navigation?
