Default Keyless entry transmitter antenna

1997 SC400. I need the location of the antenna for the key fob. I bought a key fob and went to program it, (my car enters programming mode with no issue) but when I get to the part where you press the key fob nothing happens. I've opened the key fob and made sure it has power. I dont know if this would cause issues but I removed the amp and CD changer along with the radio. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe the antenna is on the rear glass. I read somewhere that it uses the rear defroster element but this could be for 98+ model years.

The older models have theirs behind the rear passenger side panel along with the module.
