can 95 LS400 1UZ go into 92 SC400?
I've got an OBD1 SC400
I just found a really clean LS400 with a very nice motor, fresh timing belt, really great condition in a local yard.
I can grab the motor for $200 bucks but would need to pull it myself. I'm capable and have pulled motors, a little tougher in a yard.
In any case, am I inviting headaches trying to swap this motor? I assume I'd need an ECU from a 95 SC, and a few auxillay pieces like a power steering pump and hyd pump for the cooling fan.
I'm sure this has been asked before, any thoughts?

I think you will have to change Oil pan and oil pump from your SC400 to this motor as well as auxiliary pieces you mentioned. Otherwise it should be bolt on. Electricity will be a headache tough

Pan and pick up shouldn't be a problem. I'll scavenge from the outgoing motor. I'm pretty sure I can lay hands on a 95 ECU.
can you elaborate on the electricity problems?
I assume you mean wiring for the rest of the car?

Did this years back with when i wrecked my 95 and put my 95 1uz into a 92 sc400 both obd1 i ended up having to use the 92 harness on the 95 motor with the 95 ecu. You can run the 92 ecu but its going to be looking for cold start injector takes longer to start. Just swap the engine harness
