Default Key FOB/ transponder

I know this has been on here before but i'm a little lost and need help from you guys. I have a 98 SC400 and I only have 1 key for it, well my son's pit bull decided to use it as a chew toy. I was able to retrieve the key but the fob got mangled up. I was able to buy a shell and somewhat put the key back together. The fob works enough to lock & unlock the doors but just cranks when I turn the key. From what I have seen in the threads I am missing the transmitter piece that goes in the key next to the fob part. I called the dealer and they no longer offer the key or 3 button fob. I am now being told that I have to replace the BCM and get new keys. I made the mistake of buying an amazon generic key and the procedure for programming didnt help at all. None of the local the locksmith guys seem to know what to do. i just need to be able to drive it and dont really care about the keyless entry. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Do you still have the remote unit from the old, chewed up key? The transponder chip is a removable piece in the corner of it.
