vss 1jzvvti swap w58 no speed
HI CL,
I have a 1993 sc300 original 5spd w58.e
it was swapped with a 1jz vvti jzx110 motor and used the original w58 transmission.
my rpm and speedometer does not work but the fuel gauge and temp gauge work.
checked the cluster r109 has been soldered with a wire.
no I inspected the harness carefully and there is no transmission plugs to connect the vss to the w58 trans. the only thing on the harness is the old automatic connectors.
im sure that is the reason as to why my speedometer doesn't work and is there a way I can but the engine harness connector to the vss off the w58 prob from wiring specialties and wire that straight into my cluster using the signal wire and ground and power and does anybody know which wires I can splice into?
also my rpms do not work I have not checked the ignitor if it is reading to the cluster but I will double check into that as well.
really need my rpm and speedometer working so I can brig the car through emissions.
they wot check it due to rpms and speedometer not working.
just need to findout the 3 wirs off the vss the yellow red/blue and red wire where can I splice/solder them into the cluster.
and hopefully it may just be a bad ignitor on why the rpms do not work.

I would assume your problems are wiring related...
It cannot be a bad igniter for the non working RPMS on the cluster cause your car won't fire up if you have a bad igniter . I assume it fires up but no RPM signal on the cluster ...
For the 3 wires you need for your speed sensor that goes to the cluster
Pin 6 of IK1 goes to Pin 2 of the Speed Sensor 1
Pin 7 of IK1 goes to Pin 3 of the Speed Sensor 1
Pin 10 of IJ1 goes to Pin 1 of the Speed Sensor 1
