Question What these cables for?

I was pulling the carpet and on the driver side kick panel and these two cables snapped off from that thing. I'm going to solder them tomorrow morning, but just wanted to know what are those thing for... Its a 92 sc400.

The wires in your hand connect to that metal grommet looking thing in the carpet? That's got to be some sort of add-on switch or gauge by a previous owner, but I have no idea what without following the blue connector back. You might peer under the wheel well liner to see if anything unusual pokes through and heads up to the engine bay.

If it were me, I would just leave them off and see if anything bad happens. I'm guessing whatever they were added for is no longer connected, anyway.

I see, you might be right. I'll check on that tomorrow morning and see where it leads to.
Thanks for the info t2d2.
