1JZ Bando timing belt question
I'm about to throw this thing on and there are no marks for which way it's supposed to rotate, and any marks to line up with the cam gear marks, probably due to it being an Isuzu belt. Anyways, I assume I install it so that I can read the text rather than the text being upside down with it facing cylinder 1. As far as lining anything up with a timing gear, I would imagine I just throw it on any which way.

If the belt was meant for your engine, the size and depth of grooves should perfectly match all your cam gears and crank gear grooves and be tightened by your timing belt tensioner. Engine rotates clockwise.
What you need to make sure is your crank pulley is on TDC and cam gears properly aligned when you install that timing belt otherwise you will be bending valves .
What puzzles me is what you meant by "it is an Isuzu belt " ?

The Isuzu belt, i.e. made for another engine so if it had any marks, it obviously wouldn't line up with 1JZ marks due to it being designed for a different engine. I heard from Aaron at DM, and a couple guys on FB and other sites and they all told me it doesn't matter, just throw it on any which way...which I did. It's on there now, just finishing up other things before calling it a day with the maintenance.
