Grounding problem SC300 '92
Hi guys, I got my car about a week ago, everything worked, besides some small stuff, but running was great, never had an issue starting the car, yesterday i got to work, and 5 hours later i couldnt start it. All electronics work, the dash lightens up, the battery is brand new, but when I turn the key nothing happens, i know it shouldnt be a starter, because you dont hear the clicking noise from a broken one. A lot of people told me it should be a problem with grounding the engine block, I followed the cables from the battery and I found 2 ground points on the chassis, but not on the engine. Right now the car is on the parking in front of my work, I live close so i'll get it home (no garage) and tomorrow i will jack it up and will try to find the cables underneath. I will update you on the problem. Any ideas from the more familiar owners? Thank you. Car is GE

Yeah I have heard that Sc have a grounding issue. And my Sc400 I pretty sure it has the problem too when the turn signal is on the lights on the gauge cluster dins. I was thinking about garbing a universal grounding kit on ebay and seeing if that will help. Or you can make your own kit.

Tweakd Performance or Chase Bays have a nice engine ground kit for like 50 bucks. http://www.tweakdperformance.com/onl...roducts_id=100 http://www.chasebays.com/product/uni...ine-ground-kit
I put a new ground right under the starter coming off the bolt on the block(more specifically the bolt into the lower pan bellhousing where the tranny mounts up). And if you dont know where that is just run a ground from a big bolt on the block somewhere close by the starter and run it directly to bare metal on the body of the car. Make sure you have bare metal tho where the ground gets sandwiched to the body. If it is a grounding issue that should clear it up. Good luck.
