Default Stop starting ! Error 78

Hi everyone,

Since last week, my car doesn't want to start at all. Just 'whinning', without sound of any explosion of else in the engine, as if either no fuel or no spark.

As the battery started to be low in power (due to several test to fix power seats, and several times to try to start), I've charged it fully --> no change, still doesn't start...

After plugging E1 and TE1 in the engine diag, the error code 78 is the only that appear, which means Fuel Pump Control
I've to bypass the fuel pump ECU by plugging FP and B+ in the diag --> no change, still doesn't start...

Then I've removed rear seats to access the fuel pump and to "hear" it - lot of threads said the fuel pump can be heard when turning key to 'ON' - but I hear nothing special...

So far I believe the fuel pump is dead...
Before buying a used one, is there any other test I can make to identify the problem and confirm it comes from the fuel pump?

And what is the average price of an used fuel pump in Australia ?
Thanks !

Another question: can I use a fuel pump from a V8 to replace mine (2.5 TT) ?

For what I've seen on internet, they look the the same and based on here (JZZ30) and here (UZZ30) all PN are the same.

Thanks

i know on the sc400 those pumps have a 2 speed and usually the FPC controls that.. i would get a long metal extension, perhaps a 3/4 or 1/2 long extension and use it as a hearing scope. jump the connector and turn your ur igntion to on. go to your injectors and see if you can hear gas flowing to your fuel rail or injectors.

Nothing coming, fuel pump doesn't work at all...

I've found a used fuel pump from a V8: can anyone confirm it will work on a 2.5TT before I buy it ?

No 12V mod.
When I've tried to bypass the ECU, that has changed nothing.
As far as I can see, the car is nearly 100% stock
